I throw you a challenge, dear reader! A full year of magical books inspired by a curated list of witchy prompts. Do you dare accept?

As the Witch's New Year approaches, why not prepare ourselves with a book reading challenge. Samhain already passed and you just found out about this challenge? No worries! You can start anywhere on this list.

This challenge will last an entire year, with a single book a month dedicated to a specific aspect of witchcraft. With work, spouses, animals, kids, chores, the boring adult stuff, and countless other task we accumulate as the days go on, we often don't have as much time to dedicate to our practice. But allowing ourselves a few hours a month is often all we need to reconnect with our craft. So why not use this challenge as your way to reconnect?

Of course, over the next few weeks, I will also follow this book reading challenge and offer reviews on every book that I have read. No exceptions. Hopefully, no regrets either!

I really hope with this challenge, you will be able to find something new to add to your existing practice. Or even learn new things.

There Are No Obligations to Buy New Books

If an item on this list reminds you of a book in your library, grab it! Who cares if you already read the book, I enjoy rereading books all the time. Visit your local library and browse their collection. You may be surprised. Do this challenge with a friend and share your books. If you can't find a physical book that fits into the list, then step out of the box. Find videos on the subject. Don't stop yourself from doing this challenge if you can't find the books! I want you to learn something new, broaden your view and enjoy what you have learned.

I Will Not Force You to Read Witchcraft Books

GASP!

What's the point of a Witchcraft Book Challenge if you don't read Witchcraft Books, you are wondering? Because why read if you don't enjoy it. I do not want this challenge to become a chore!

So, what happens if you've read five witchy books in a row and are now experiencing an overload of information?

You stop. NOW. Drop that book this instant!

There are other witchy books out there that do not have to be informative. Go with fiction or historical, but keep it mystical is all that I ask. Heck, go for those cute adult colouring books. Give your brain a rest when it needs it. Trust me. I love filling my brain with all that Witchcraft has to offer and I have grown my practice because of it, but between every book I have read (and reviewed) there are a BUNCH of other non-pagan related ones. Mainly some awesome romantic fantasy fictions. I love reading no matter the book, but that is not the case for everyone, so follow this list however you like. Read, listen or watch as long as it respects the prompt.

Now to The List

This is a one book a month type of challenge. Each month will have a theme and some will even be inspired by the Neo-Pagan Wheel of the Year.

  1. Spooky Season - Traditions and the ghostly

  2. Energizing Crystals - Crystal Magic

  3. Winter Blessings - Yuletide and Winter tales

  4. Introspection and self-care - All about focusing on you

  5. Candle Light - Candle Magic and Imbolc

  6. Is it time for Spring yet? - Season of Love and Fertility

  7. Spring Cleaning - Hearth and Home Magic

  8. Preparing the Gardens - Green Magic and Flora

  9. Seeing the Sights - Divination and Psychic Awareness

  10. Drawing in the sand - Sigils and Imagery Magic

One Book a Month

It's all I ask.

I hope you will enjoy my little challenge, and discover new additions to your practice. I know I can't wait to start! I already have a small list of potentials already and I am really excited to share it with you guys.

Happy Reading!

P.S.: Don't you dare forget to share with me all of the gems that you have found!
